ULM defensive line coach John Mumford will serve as the interim coach the remainder of the season.

Alabama head coach Nick Saban greets Louisiana-Monroe head coach Todd Berry after Alabama’s football game with Louisiana-Monroe, Saturday, September 26, 2015, at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

“We have endeavored to run a program that at its core was built on integrity and character”, Berry said. “We have graduated our players and avoided the social ineptness that has plagued so many programs”. The Warhawks regressed to 6-6 in 2013, 4-8 a year ago and now sit at 1-9, their worst record since 2003.

Berry, 55, had been ULM’s coach since 2010, posting a 28-43 record. However, the Warhawks managed just one winning season during his tenure – an 8-5 campaign that led to a trip to the Independence Bowl. He was sacked from his previous FBS head coaching job at Army after going 5-35.
