Rain likely tonight, lasting through the weekend
Today’s weather forecast calls for heavy winds and rain in the Racine area and the Federal Emergency Management Agency wants residents to be prepared.

There’s also a chance for showers Thursday morning, but it will be dry in the afternoon. Winds 25-35 mph with gusts to 45 mph late tonight, increasing to 25-40 mph with gusts to 55 mph Thursday.
Officials at the Weather Service office in Lincoln say the storms will visit our area between 6 and 9pm, extending to 10pm in the eastern parts of our listening area.

A strong onshore flow in the Pacific Northwest is transporting moisture from the north central Pacific Ocean into the region for the next couple of days, according to the weather service. AccuWeather says winds will gust between 50-60 miles per hour throughout the day.
The early forecast for early next week shows a warming trend, with 60s returning to thermometers for Monday and Tuesday.

Thursday night: There is a 40 percent chance of showers with a low of about 39. Though they will probably start out as strong, individual thunderstorms, they will eventually converge into a line or bow echo with severe wind gusts as the hours pass.
