Holly Holm shocks Ronda Rousey to become UFC champion
About a month before her fight with Holly Holm at UFC 193, Ronda Rousey appeared on the Jimmy Fallon show and gave her prediction for how the bout would play out.

Holm was the underdog, but she pretty much had Rousey’s number.
You see, Ronda Rousey was just named the EA Sports UFC 2 cover athlete on Friday morning, right before the weigh-in for UFC 192 in Melbourne, Australia.
Holm reportedly threw a series of powerful jabs and was able to keep Rousey at a distance. Holm immediately jumped on Rousey and delivered several blows before the referee, Herb Dean, stopped the fight, stunning the audience and Rousey’s corner.
A headkick to the neck finished Rousey, who had sloppily chased Holm around the cage with her hands down, eating countless left hands and unable to get her down to the mat for any considerable amount of time. Rousey thrives off pushing the pace and getting the early finish, but Holm waited patiently to strike, and when she did she struck hard.
Holm took the title via a second-round KO at UFC 193 in Melbourne – one of the biggest shocks in the sport’s history.
“This was not a close fight”, said ESPN analyst and fellow UFC fighter Chael Sonnen on Saturday’s SportsCenter.
Former women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has been defeated. “I thought, ‘how could I not do this?'”, said Holm.
As to when a potential rematch may happen, UFC 200 makes plenty of sense.
“There was lots of blood sweat and tears but it sure was worth it”, Holm said after winning the crown.
“Obviously, she’s completely bummed out and depressed”, UFC President Dana White told MMA Fighting of the former champ.
“I didn’t want to kick her in the body and have her trap my leg”.

“I’ve been on the losing side of a fight and wanted to avenge my loss – absolutely, she deserves a rematch“.
