According to Kurt Busch, Harvick’s teammate at Stewart-Haas Racing, the defending Sprint Cup champion has developed a knack for finding the fastest way around the 1-mile speedway.

“I don’t think it matters what’s fair”, Keselowski said. “And then I quickly realized it was not a joke and then I was pulling the laughs back into my mouth”.
Only Jeff Gordon has locked up his spot in next week’s title-deciding race, and three spots are up for grabs Sunday at Phoenix global Raceway. The other two would qualify on points. They are Busch, Kevin Harvick, Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano, Martin Truex Jr., Kyle Busch and Carl Edwards. In years past before this format, consistency was still key.
“You’ve got to watch him, though, because it changes. You have to win”.
As the rains came down in the desert, Gordon – who will retire after this season – was the only driver who had no worries playing the Chase waiting game.
NHRA: In Pomona, California, Del Worsham, Jack Beckman and Tommy Johnson Jr. will decide the amusing vehicle season title today in the season-ending Auto Club NHRA Finals. Facing elimination at the end of the second segment, Harvick found a way to stay in the Chase at Talladega.
So how do the six drivers juggle what’s best for their own team with achieving maximum results for their organization on Sunday?
But over the years, Gordon said he’s realized the Chase has made a positive contribution to NASCAR. “There is no doubt in my mind that (the old system) suited my driving style”. But he still climbed to seventh and might have been able to challenge teammate Harvick for the win. But he needs to win, something he has yet to do at the Phoenix track in 13 tries. “I want to lead laps”.
“I don’t think it was a penalty”.
The current Chase’s format has lived up to its win-centric billing.
The shortened race left several Chase drivers wondering what could have been. Kevin Harvick, last season’s victor, is three points back in third place.
Keselowski dominated last week at Texas before being overtaken late by Johnson.
“We are going to go into this as business as usual, but these races are all coming down to how you play your cards around the three-quarter mark to go”. You don’t know sometimes, and it is what it is. That’s a reason to start a survey and right now, I encourage everyone to go on to Twitter, my Facebook, my Instagram and follow it and we’re all going to have a survey.

For those who thought the wreckfest at Martinsville three weeks ago was exciting, multiply it by 100 and that is what you will get at PIR. I’ve never been great here until that last race before they repaved it. It’s a very fun, exciting, challenging racetrack.
