Cowboys vs Bucs Final Scores, Results and Updates: Dallas suffers another loss

We’re not even thinking about next week when Tony gets back.

The Cowboys (2-6) have lost six consecutive games without injured quarterback Tony Romo, the team’s longest skid since a six-game streak bridging the 2000 and 2001 seasons.

Matt Cassel would “absolutely” like to stay with the Dallas Cowboys for “a long period of time”. The Cowboys defense played great and held the Tampa Bay offense to only three points until the final minute of the game. That’s why we do this. I have a feeling Jameis Winston has a chance to be a good one, but I just can’t fathom Dallas losing seven straight. Former Cowboys teammate Sterling Moore was in charge of following him nearly all over the field the way the Seattle Seahawks’ Richard Sherman did two weeks ago.

The Cowboys traded for Cassel on September 22, two days after Romo fractured his left collarbone, as insurance in case Brandon Weeden struggled as the starter. That’s why he’s been a favorite target of Cowboy quarterbacks since his rookie season.

“That’s what we were trying to do all day: Play consistent ‘D, ‘ win first and second down, and then once we get to third down win that and leave the offense with as [little] field as possible so they don’t have to drive from the 10 and try to get it all the way down the field”, said McDougald. But at the same time, I would love to finish on a winning note…. Winless in all six games since losing Romo the Cowboys have found ways to lose five of those very winnable games. He had a couple dropped passes in the game, but he recorded 126 receiving yards on the day. His two touchdowns matched his best from last season against Chicago. Jameis Winston is playing increasingly better by the week but defense hasn’t been the problem for Dallas over the past month. Defensive tackle Gerald McCoy has been ineffective, with only four tackles and no sacks in the past three games. Their last win against Dallas was also at home back in the 2003 season. But the former Hueytown High School star extended his streak of games with a touchdown run to three, and by doing so, lifted the Bucs to a 10-6 victory.

The Bucs quickly fell into a third-and-10 on the ensuing possession but Winston’s accurate sideline toss to Evans picked up 14 yards and moved the ball just across midfield.

Evans is only the latest culprit. Greg Auman at the Tampa Bay Times reports that Jackson is still not practicing while dealing with a knee injury and at this point it’s unlikely he returns for Week 10. Early on in the season he was making the typical rookie mistakes, but he has now gone four straight games without throwing an interception and has put his team in a position to win each of those games.

Evans, who has 32 receptions for 538 yards and 1 touchdown, attributed his difficulties mostly to wet conditions and humidity.

“I feel like I get more comfortable each and every week”, Cassel said. “I’ve done a few good things”.

The defense hasn’t been bad at all ranking No. 13 overall in total defense. “If I can improve on that, that would be great”. It was the first interception thrown by Winston, the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft, since October 4, a span of 134 passes. However, we saw Sunday that he can play smart, efficient football when everything around him collapses.
