I’m sure he’ll be back. Thankfully, it seems that Marvel and Douglas are on the same page, and talks are underway to have the actor return in the Ant-Man sequel entitled Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Director Peyton Reed is already on board for the next instalment, which will feature more of Lilly’s character Hope as her superhero alter ego The Wasp.
It’s encouraging to hear Douglas’ enthusiasm for Ant-Man, as watching him get scrappy with the likes of Rudd, Pena, and Lilly was one of the great pleasures of Reed’s film, which recently had a very promising debut in China.
Michael Douglas is willing to return as long as he doesn’t have to deliver as much “expositional dialogue”. Ant Man and The Wasp is scheduled for release on July 6th 2018.
Douglas confirmed the news in a recent interview after Marvel called him to open negotiations on bringing him back for the sequel also starring Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lily in the title roles.

“I chuckle about being involved with a movie that already has a release date in 2018”, he said. “It’s hard to conceive of that, but it’s all good, all the way around, it’s all good”.
