It appeared that the American League side was going to be dominated by players from the Kansas City Royals. Disbanded because of financial issues after two seasons, the team is being honored this summer with a variety of hometown homages including a 30-foot-tall image depicting a Red Stocking player that’s projected at night on the city’s Carew Tower.

Major League Baseball has announced the reserves and pitchers for next week’s All-Star game at Cincinnati.

Salvador Perez, their affable catcher, simply hopped off the platform and grabbed his own chair from the crowd. The last time Kansas City had any starters was 2000, when outfielder Jermaine Dye was chosen to start.

“Winning brings attention, and that’s what we’ve been doing”, Gordon said. “People have noticed it”.

Relying on such an inefficient selection model also risks the game’s star power being dimmed. This is the most expensive average ticket price in the past five seasons, and the only All-Star Game over the $1,000 barrier.

Royals manager Ned Yost and San Fransisco’s Bruce Bochy will be at the helm for the AL and NL teams on July 14th in Cincinnati. Burnett, who is making his first All-Star appearance in what could be his last season. Bryce Harper led all vote-getting, and became the highest vote-getter in the history of the National League with almost 14 million votes.

The Giants’ representatives are starting catcher Buster Posey, second baseman Joe Panik, shortstop Brandon Crawford and left-hander Madison Bumgarner, the reigning World Series Most Valuable Player. But in Rodriguez’s case, his off-the-field past has hardened the hearts of Yankees fans across America.

Among the American League starters joining Donaldson will be Houston second baseman Jose Altuve and Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout.

“It’s important to try to get it right for everybody involved”, Yost said.

Matt Holliday won the fan voting but he is not the same power hitter we are used to seeing playing left field in St. Louis. They are set in stone except for injuries that might come up, pitchers ineligible to pitch in the All-Star Game because they pitch for their teams Sunday and the outcome of the Final Vote.

Cabrera’s NL counterpart will be Paul Goldschmidt of the Diamondbacks, who received 9,119,375 votes to attain his second consecutive fan-elected start. “But for me it’s not something I really want to do”. “I was excited. It was a huge comeback”, Frazier said.

Dee Gordon remembered attending All-Star Games when his dad, pitcher Tom Gordon, made the roster. He’ll be attending the T-Mobile FanFest event at the Duke Energy Convention Center as well as watching both the home run derby and all-star game in a local establishment.
