Ronda Rousey Didn’t Suffer Concussion In UFC 193, Will Have Lip Surgery

Holly Holm’s coach Mike Winkeljohn says Ronda Rousey didn’t necessarily err by rushing his charge in their UFC world title fight, but was simply beaten by an intellectually superior fighter in Melbourne.

Holm said a rematch with Rousey would “make sense” for her first title defense.

Holm stopped the sport’s leading lady in the second round of their UFC 193 championship bout at the Etihad Stadium, producing a powerful kick to the head that knocked Rousey out cold. “Obviously, biggest upset ever”. When you look at how Ronda is revered – baddest woman on the planet – definitely. In an unintentionally prophetic interview with Jimmy Fallon in October, Rousey predicted the knockout that would rock the UFC. She called Holm “fake” and Holm said she was in Melbourne to “shock the world”. I thought, “How can I not do this with all this support?” She’s involved in a film project, starring in Patrick Swayze’s former bouncer role in a remake of “Roadhouse”. We will have to wait and see if Rousey wants to come back right away to rematch Holm. She along with her friends, family, and coaches were confident the entire time building up to this fight. “That’s how I feel”.

Between rounds one and two, Rousey’s corner inexplicably praised her strategy rather than advising her to calm down… or at least not be so reckless against a precision counterstriker. She had an opponent that had an answer for her. She never made an adjustment, “former UFC heavywight champion Frank Mir explains”.

‘There was lots of blood sweat and tears but it sure was worth it.

UFC president Dana White later confirmed Rousey had been taken to hospital for check-ups. “She was transported because she was knocked out, number one, and her lip was split in half”, White said.
