Arsenal keeper Petr Cech says Chelsea form ‘hard to believe’

The decision to sell Cech, which was made personally by Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich as a goodwill gesture following his 11 years of service to the club, looked to backfire early when No 1 goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was ruled out for three months.

Jose Mourinho’s men are 16th after losing seven of their 12 games, with Cech at a loss to explain why a team that strengthened in the summer are suffering such a slump in form.

It’s taken Cech by surprise, and he labelled the current situation at Stamford Bridge as a “crisis”.

Discussing the headwear with media in his native Czech Republic, Cech admits he would rather not wear the helmet, and that there are times, such as this season’s 0-0 draw with Liverpool, where it leaves him feeling “completely lost” as it distorts his hearing.

“This should not be the case because they have the same coach and even bought new players during the summer”.

“You have your ears covered, worse hearing”.

“The doctor has however advised me against removing it since It would affect my insurance arrangements”. It is very hard to believe that the club is in such a state.

Cech said he has suffered concussion while wearing the helmet – notably against Fulham in 2011 – and added: “I don’t want to think what would have happened to me without it”. “But the doctor has forbidden me to take it off. I wouldn’t get insurance!”
