Here’s Another Television Spot For The Force Awakens

And along with the onslaught of TV spots that will be arriving to help promote the film, there will be plenty of other Star Wars events and promotions, like Gallery 1988’s The Art Awakens show.

Greg Grunberg, a lifelong Star Wars nerd, was so excited to watch The Force Awakens that he couldn’t help but do so while on set.

Director JJ Abrams has confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that it’s a Death Star-type weapon base.

Wow! We know full well that the Death Star was capable of destroying planets (R.I.P. Alderaan), so where do we even go from there?

“It is very much – and it’s acknowledged as such in the movie – apparently another Death Star”, Abrams told EW.

Disney and Lucasfilm have explained how Kylo Ren’s lightsaber works in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”. “Starkiller Base is another step forward, technologically speaking, in terms of power”.

Also, the fact that it’s named Starkiller means there’s every chance that the station will be able to destroy entire suns, stars, and solar systems. This provides the first footage of Domhnall Gleeson’s villainous General Hux, shouting “Fire!’ from the imposing Starkiller Base”. They have their own relationship, which is individual and unusual.

Hmm. Do we sense a few dissention in the ranks?

Amusing side note, I was at the South Coast Plaza Disney Store picking up a Buzz Lightyear Halloween costume for a 6-year-old-no, not any 6-year-old, Uncle Roy-when there at the cash register getting rung up figurines they’d plucked from the large Star Wars: The Force Awakens display in the middle of the room were two guys who appeared to be in their mid-30s, quite single and reeking of mom’s basement.

Abrams has also revealed that Carrie Fisher’s Leia will not be referred to as “Princess” in the film, but has instead been given a new, more military-sounding title. May the force be with you until then.
