“The Grinder” star is catching major heat on social media after tweeting about Friday’s terror attacks in Paris, which has reportedly left over 100 dead.
Then, Lowe criticized France’s president François Hollande’s speech that declared the country was in a state of emergency. Back in September, Hollande announced France would accept 24,000 war refugees over the next two years, according to USA Today.
Lowe, 51, seemingly side-steeped the controversial tweets but later defended an earlier tweet he wrote which said: “Vive La France”.
Critics quickly piled on the actor, calling him a “piece of lowlife scum” and an “atrocious human being”. He also tweeted, “Lived in France, and spend a ton of time there. I’m with you”, including the hashtags #CloseOurBorders and #PrayForParis.

Musicians such as Bono, Madonna and Foo Fighters all voiced their support for Paris victims, dozens of whom were killed by gunmen at an Eagles of Death Metal show at the city’s Bataclan concert venue.
