University attacker’s plan for revenge is called delusional

Mohammad, a university student who lived on campus, entered his class around 8 a.m. with a hunting knife and began his stabbing spree. A male construction worker was treated and released.

Two victims had to be airlifted to nearby hospitals, and two others were treated on campus.

Among the four victims, who police have refused to name officially, was Byron Price.

“His plan went haywire because people fought back”, Warnke said.

“Based on eyewitness accounts, students in the classroom played pivotal roles not only in alerting police and thwarting further attacks but also in providing first aid to the initial victims”.

The explosion of violence shocked the quiet Central Valley campus, especially because by all accounts the Wilcox High School graduate was a typical 18-year-old.

The Sheriff says that, “he talks about going into the classroom and actually taking the students and handcuffing them with the zip ties”. Chief Vasquez stated that the suspect was shot by officers after the suspect turned toward them, and that the suspect eventually succumbed to his injuries.

“They have ensured that counseling services are readily available to students, faculty and staff at UC Merced”, Napolitano said in a statement.

Warnke said during a news conference Wednesday that Mohammed injured another student as he ran out of the building, and attacked a staff member who was sitting outside the building.

“To become a university student and throw it all away like that, I don’t know why he’d want to do that”, said Price.

“We do now have a motive and we also have a detailed plan of what he attempted or thought he was going to do that day the fortunate part is that we had a few intervention with citizens, students, and a construction worker”, Warnke said.

Mohammad’s actions drew praise on Thursday from a Twitter account associated with ISIS, which just last week released a series of videos calling for lone wolf stabbing attacks, Fox News reported.

Mohammad’s plan for revenge discussed his anger with being kicked out of the study group, the sheriff said, but he didn’t know why the computer science and engineering major was excluded from the group.

Once armed, according to the UC Merced stabbing suspect’s manifesto, he planned to shoot named targets he had listed.

More than 6,600 students are enrolled at UC Merced, which is about 120 miles south of Sacramento. Several US colleges have been the site of violent attacks involving bladed weapons.
