California-based tech giant Apple has reportedly ordered 85 million to 90 million units of mobile phones from its suppliers in Asia.
Apple is producing record numbers of its next iPhone according to a report.
However, The Wall Street reports that the overall design is expected to remain the same and the above described features will just be an added benefit without entailing a major change. Even with the minor changes the iPhone 6S will set a new record sale and Apple will again scramble to fullfill orders in a reasonable time. This comes after the publication reported in March that Apple was testing a pink color choice for the iPhone. In the first half of the fiscal year ended in September, the company sold 135.6 million phones, up 43% from the same period a year ago. This can be used to enable new controls and gestures, such as a contextual menu that pops up on a hard press. The mobile division of the Apple brand is known to release new models, occasionally more than once in a year. By way of contrast, Apple during the build-up to the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus release anticipated orders in the 70 to 75 million unit range. VatorNews has reached out to Apple for confirmation of this news, as more information about why it expects to see such high demand. Today’s models offer three colors, the space gray, white and gold. A third manufacturer, Taiwan-based Wistron, may join in, depending on whether it can meet Apple’s manufacturing demands.
Hon Hai Precision Industry Co and Pegatron Corp have already produced smartphone for Apple past year.
Apple has diversified its assembly partners as its product portfolio has expanded.
