Begovic backs Mourinho as Chelsea slump worsens
With manager Jose Mourinho banned from the stadium, his team slumped to a seventh Premier League defeat of the season.

The latest of their run of losses came against Stoke City on Saturday, when a banned Mourinho was forced to watch from a hotel room as his side were frustrated and downed by Marko Arnautovic’s acrobatic goal.
Kurt Zouma has revealed Jose Mourinho was on the phone to the Chelsea dressing-room at half-time at Stoke – and congratulated them after the game.
Nemanja Matic has admitted Chelsea’s priority is to claw themselves away from the relegation zone and insists Stoke City were “lucky” to beat the Premier League champions.
Former Chelsea defender Graeme Le Saux believes the Portuguese is the right man to lead the club out of their current troubles, but feels Mourinho needs to change his approach.
What do you think of Ruud Gullit’s remarks about Tiger Woods in that his demise is similar to that of Chelsea’s?
Mourinho’s opposite number Mark Hughes, whose team knocked Chelsea out of the League Cup in a penalty shoot-out last week, admitted that overseeing a game against a dug-out without a manager was a first for him.
“If he had said after the last game: ‘I’m wrong”. This is also the first time that Chelsea have lost three consecutive league games in the Roman Abramovich era, and it might well bring the pressure that sees another managerial change in that era.
“I think in the last two games we played good football, but have been unlucky”, the Serbian said.
Mourinho, who has said the club will have to sack him if they want to get rid of him as he will not resign, has also had his disciplinary problems.

“We played really well and knew we would have to”. He thanked Chelsea fans for showing their support during the match when they clapped, sang and cheered for him at Stamford Bridge.
