Clippers making push to keep DeAndre Jordan; Suns reach deal

The situation grew so freakish that the players reportedly began to stake out Mavericks officials who were attempting to reach Jordan via phone or visit his house.

“Everything is positive”, one league executive said of the Clippers’ pursuit of Jordan, adding the team expected him to re-sign with the Clippers once the clock struck midnight Eastern time.

The centre made a verbal agreement with Dallas to return to his home state on a four year, $80 million contract during the free agency moratorium period.

However, Jordan never confirmed his agreement-it was all reports.

Clippers owner Steve Ballmer and Rivers, along with Blake Griffin, J.J. But Paul was not alone on behalf of Clippers when they met DJ on Wednesday afternoon at his hometown Houston, after which the center indicated his change of heart. The Clippers aren’t letting DeAndre Jordan out of their clutches this time. Point guard Jason Kiddbacked out of a commitment to re-sign with the Mavericks in 2013 to play for the New York Knicks.

But it’s a rare occurrence, and the unusual last-minute lobbying played out on Twitter with various players tweeting emojis with apparent references to traveling to Houston to meet with Jordan. Thus igniting the infamous emoji twitter battle of 2015.
