Vegas Sports Books Got Clobbered in Rousey’s Stunning First Loss

It was just the second time Rousey had been taken beyond the opening period in 13 professional fights.

While a majority of money is typically bet on favorites, Rousey was so heavily favored going into Saturday’s title fight that many bettors took long odds on challenger Holly Holm.

Something different became something monumental.

After adding a couple more boxing victories to her record, she met with her first taste of defeat, getting knocked out in the fourth round of a kickboxing match against Trisha Hill on April 6, 2003. “Every grab she tried to get, on the cage, I have not spent this much time in the gym before any fight in my life”.

Perhaps realizing that simultaneous careers in two combat sports wasn’t a great idea, she abandoned kickboxing after that and devoted most of her time and attention to boxing. “Everything we talked about is essentially what went down”.

Rousey said last week that she planned to “disappear for a while” before returning in July 2016 at UFC 200-which could be headlined by a massive pay-per-view rematch against Holm.

In the second round, a left-handed punch led to Rousey falling to the canvas. Everyone expected another commanding victory for Rousey against her opposition, Holly Holm.

White said a likely rematch between Holm and Rousey would put other potential matchups on the backburner. “I think Ronda got beat tonight”, White said.

Unfortunately, it’s also being reported that Rousey may require plastic surgery due to a shattered nose and badly split lip. And he says she’s score a phenomenal payday.

“But at the end of the day, Ronda Rousey’s human”.

“A rematch makes a lot of sense”, UFC boss Dana White said. She’s involved in a film project, starring in Patrick Swayze’s former bouncer role in a remake of “Roadhouse”.

“I didn’t want to kick her in the body and have her trap my leg…” “She still has a movie to film, doing all the things she has to do before she fights again”.

Rather than stop the fight, the ref untangled her and threw her back to the wolf.
