Gov. McCrory Asks Feds to Cease Sending Syrian Refugees to NC
North Carolina will not accept Syrian refugees in the aftermath of Friday’s terrorist attacks in Paris, Governor Pat McCrory said at a news conference on Monday.

Nikki Haley says there are no Syrian refugees in SC and says she will object if the Federal Government does make plans to send refugees to the state.
Rather, he said, the federal government brings refugees into the country, and they are then turned over to nonprofits such as U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants.
An interpreter for the newly arrived Syrian family in Charlotte says there are very disappointed in the Governor’s response.
“To date, we have received little to no security information about those refugees or their backgrounds, or even their names in certain circumstances”, said McCrory.
Governor McCrory said he has directed the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Public Safety to coordinate with the appropriate federal agencies.
“I have asked the Governor to stop all Syrian refugees from entering NC and to call on the Feds to deport the 44 who are already here”, Rep. Carl Ford, R-Rowan, said via Twitter. They include Alabama, Arkansas, Indiana, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Florida and Texas.
“We remain committed to fulfilling the call of the gospel in regard to the resettlement of any and all refugees that come our way”, he said. The better approach, we think, is to accommodate Syrian refugees in another Middle Eastern country until they can be verified as legitimate asylum seekers. The terrorists, we think can be filtered out if it is done properly.
