Steelers QB Landry Jones leaves with injury, replaced by Ben Roethlisberger

Roethlisberger would not close the door on playing this week, leaving it “slightly ajar” when asked about his availability against the Browns.

Roethlisberger suffered a mid-foot sprain last week against the Oakland Raiders and was taken for X-rays.

That means Ben Roethlisberger, who didn’t start due to a foot injury, is next up at quarterback.

Browns starting quarterback Josh McCown is inactive with a rib injury, and backup Johnny Manziel will start a second consecutive game.

Roethlisberger was still in his National Football League infancy back then. Where we are right now isn’t good enough.

One streak will remain intact for another year: Roethlisberger’s flawless mark at home against the Browns. He had 320 pass yards in the first half in Week 8 last season against the Indianapolis Colts. He overthrew Antonio Brown on his first play of the game. He endured a nasty facemask from Moats, who twisted Manziel’s head awkwardly while reaching out for the quarterback in the second quarter.
