Washington State stuns UCLA with game-winning TD in final seconds
College football rankings for Week 12 are rewarding the Washington State Cougars. The Cougars would go on to take just 37 seconds to find the end zone as Bender found Dom Williams on the 7 yard slant pass to the corner of the end zone to go up 14-13 with 1:30 left in the half.

“The guy is incredibly bright and has a great feel for what he wants to do on offense”, Mora said of Leach. “I always wanted to play in the Rose Bowl growing up, (but) I don’t like UCLA”, Palacio said.
Did Rosen think they had the game in hand, a reporter asked after the game.
“No”, he fired back, “but I kind of got the feeling everyone else did”.
Luke Falk connected with Gabe Marks on a 21-yard touchdown pass with three seconds left to send Washington State to a 31-27 victory over No. 19 UCLA on Saturday night. Asked if he had thought a win secure after his touchdown, he said: “No, but I kind of got the feeling that everyone else did”.
The loyal Washington State Cougars fans are finally getting rewarded win games in the win column, and it’s just a matter of time until that bowl invite comes in for this season.
Offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone had a suggestion. I see a lot of his games and watch a lot of film specifically on him.
The redshirt junior has run for only two touchdowns since injuring his knee more than three weeks ago, but was healthy enough to carry the ball 23 times last Saturday – the tailback’s heaviest workload since September. He has 116 yards, 6 catches, two touchdowns. “We’ve just got to be tight with our coverage. Our defense did the best they could against a really high-powered offense, and we just didn’t hold up our end of the bargain on offense”.
UCLA is also the only team to finish in the top 10 in penalty yards the last three seasons.
The Cougs return home this week to host Colorado at Martin Stadium.
“Everyone is going to focus on the end of the game and the last play”, Mora said. They settled for a field goal.
It did give Ka’imi Fairbairn a chance to set the Pac-12 career scoring mark, surpassing former Bruin John Lee on his first 22-yard field goal.
The senior kicker hit all four of his field-goal attempts, giving him 402 career points. And that’s exactly what Jim Mora plans to do, with help from workhorse Paul Perkins and backups Soso Jamabo and Nate Starks. Falk completed his next five passes to get the Cougars to the UCLA two-yard line, and running back Gerard Wicks’ touchdown run put an exclamation mark on the drive as the Cougars took a 7-3 lead. You keep showing up and practicing hard, and we got over the hump in a couple of them this year, we hope to get over the hump in a couple more before the season’s over.
Washington State quarterback Luke Falk, right, threw for 331 yards and 2 TDs in win over UCLA. The Bruins drove 94 yards in 11 plays.

“They pass the ball pretty much every play”, UCLA linebacker Jayon Brown said. In the game, Rosen has 2 touchdown passes, 333 yards passing.
