With Thanksgiving right around the corner, turkeys are in high demand.

The Food bank of Western NY feeds about 117,000 individuals every month.

The Food Bank of WNY is asking local residents to help the agency grapple with a major challenge.

“When we think of Thanksgiving, we think of sitting down with our family and friends and enjoying their company over a delicious meal – we want everyone in Westchester to have that joyful experience”, said Ellen Lynch, President/CEO of the Food Bank for Westchester. The Food Bank has purchased 2,800 turkeys to distribute to community partners, such as Lutheran Social Services, Paz de Cristo Outreach Center and Matthew’s Crossing Food Bank. The boxes will then be delivered to the Utica Food Bank.

If unable to directly donate turkeys, monetary donations can be made online at www.unitedfoodbank.org or by calling 480-0926-4897.
