Whatever about the initial shock, after Cowell attended her first baby scan he felt “unbelievably protective of both of them”.

In other news, Simon Cowell admitted he’d never seen The Rugrats Movie and Rita Ora shed two tears then started to fancy Che Che.

Here’s how the night unfolded.

The X Factor just doesn’t feel the same this year and a large part of that is down to the fact that Dermot O’Leary isn’t fronting the show anymore. “I hope you’re okay, sweetheart”, Simon said.

In fact, Simon was one of the first people who Louis called when he found out that his ex-partner Briana Jungwirth was pregnant.

Luckily, Celina was able to come out and perform with the group just fine; not only that, but it was a particularly strong performance to go along with it. The judges and the audience loved it, and after the show the group made it clear on Twitter (see below) that she is doing just fine.

An X Factor spokesman said in a statement: “Celina fainted earlier before her performance”. “I really, really adore you”, Cowell told the 17-year-old from Essex. He refused to contemplate the thought of life without her even when doctors said she had just months to live.

Then Max Stone gave a powerful performance of Bruce Springsteen’s Secret Garden from Jerry Maguire – and it was dedicated to his girlfriend, aww!

Cheryl, their mentor said that she is so proud of 4th Impact. “I’ll get you the movie, sweetie”, Cowell told the Geordie judge.

There were loud cheers for Ghanaians Reggie n Bollie after their infectious rendition of Who Let The Dogs Out by Baha Men.

The controversial contestant was originally axed from the competition for rowing with Simon, but his song choice of Men In Black won praise from the judges.

“It’s like welcome back, Mason”, exclaimed Cowell.
