South Africa trail 1-0 in the four-match series after losing the first Test in Mohali.
India were in a dominant position at stumps on Day One in Bangalore but two days of heavy rains has meant that the match is heading for a damp draw. India’s spin twins Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja once again bowled out the visitors for 214.
Second day in a row, the second test match of IND vs SA, was kept on hold. AB de Villiers, playing his 100th Test in the city he represents in the IPL, top scored for the visitors with a defiant 85 that included 11 boundaries and a six.
