In an interview posted by the French news broadcast Le Petit Journal on Monday, a reporter asks a young French boy if he understands why terrorists attacked Paris on Friday, killing at least 129 people and injuring 350.
When asked by the French journalist whether he understands what happened and “why those people did that”, the boy replies: “yes, because they’re really, really mean”.
Boy: “They have guns”.
While describing the “mean” men, Brandon mentions that they have to move house now. “Bad guys are not very nice”.
“Yes, but there’s bad guys everywhere”, said the father.
A clip from a French TV interview that shows a father and son talking through their thoughts on terrorism, guns, flowers and a lot more is going viral since it was first uploaded on November 16. We don’t need to move out.
Boy’s father: “It’s okay, they might have guns but we have flowers”. “France is our home”.
Boy: “But flowers don’t do anything, they’re for, they’re for…” One father in Paris faced the dilemma, as he and his small, fearful son were interviewed on camera.
“They have guns”, he agreed.
The boy then said: “But there are frightful people dad”.
“And candles too?” said the son.
“Yep, I’m feeling better”, the young boy concludes.
