Trudeau to talk climate with premiers November 23
Trudeau fires up Royal Canadian Air Force Zero-One Friday night and, with the back of the gas-guzzling Mulroney-era Airbus stuffed with more Canadian journalists than his predecessor ever saw, will jet off for his first worldwide summits.

Overall, Trudeau says their mandate letters are not exhaustive.
“We will ensure that any decision taken is in the best interests of Canadians based on a strong economic case, but concerns about worldwide impacts I’m sure will fold into any decision we take in a responsible manner”, the Liberal leader said when asked by a reporter about possible trade action.
But Trudeau has previously said part of the reason he wanted to withdraw the CF-18s from Iraq and Syria was because he feared that if he didn’t, Canada would become even more deeply embroiled in an open-ended conflict in one of the most complex and troubled regions of the world.
“Syrian refugees gather outside their embassy waiting to apply for passports or to renew their old passports, in …” Earlier Thursday, the European Union agreed to pay Turkey…
Turkey, which has taken more than two million asylum seekers since the outbreak of the Syrian civil war, says it has spent $8 billion to handle the refugee crisis. Trudeau will then travel to Malta for a Commonwealth heads of government meeting on November 27 to 29, and then to Paris for climate talks.
“All Canadian children deserve a real and fair chance to succeed, and all Canadians should be able to live with dignity”, Trudeau said in his letter to Duclos, who will be the minister in charge of developing a national strategy to reduce poverty.
“This will encourage the United States next door to do so… and could well encourage deficit hawks elsewhere, as in Britain and Germany, to follow in this path, with great multiplier effects for the global economy as a whole”.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has arrived at the G20 summit in Turkey where Friday’s attacks in Paris were set to dominate the discussions.
Trudeau’s new government has refused to set a target for cutting GHGs in advance of Paris, but Environment Minister Catherine McKenna did say the existing Conservative-set mark should be considered the floor.
He said Canada would be “moving towards a different way where Canada can help militarily and in many other ways as well”.
“He just has to be ready to actually deliver on promises of more Canadian action on these files”. “I know that Canada has benefitted for decades and generations from various waves of immigrants, people who were often fleeing for their lives and who have established good lives for themselves and have also contributed greatly to our country’s success”.
Canada has committed to increasing funding to UN HCR and continuing to offer humanitarian and refugee support, he added.

Aside from that, the Liberal Party also pledged to accept more Syrian refugees for resettlement in the country and to legalize marijuana in Canada.
