A gesture of kindness at a train station in Atlanta has gained attention on social media in recent days since a Facebook post Saturday described the heartwarming scene, Today reports.
The older man’s wife spotted the young man sitting on a subway bench in a shirt and suit pants, but struggling to tie his tie.
While waiting at the MARTA subway station in Atlanta, Georgia, a woman was looking around and noticed a young man that seemed to be struggling and unable to tie his tie. When he responded “No ma’am”, the woman tapper her husband on the shoulder and asked him to lend a hand.
Thomas’ photo which was posted on November 14 went viral and touched many people who saw it.
It garnered over 570,000 likes and was shared more than 160,000 times by Monday afternoon.

According to Thomas, the elderly man without hesitation jumped into action and began the intricate process of teaching the young man how to tie his tie. But whether it be church or a job interview, because a stranger stopped and took notice of him, he received a life lesson that was no doubt helpful on that day and will remain helpful in the years to come.
