Caitlyn Jenner Stuns at Last Night’s Glamours Women of the Year Awards
Jenner, who was named Woman of the Year, told the crowd at Carnegie Hall that the six months since she came out as a woman have been “the most eye-opening experience of my life”.

Glamour magazine hosted its annual Women of the Year gala on Monday night in NY, and a few of the country’s most inspiring women were in attendance. During her acceptance speech, she opened up about her emotional journey since coming out as a transgender woman in April.
“Because for so many years, I lost my enthusiasm for life”.
Then she sat down with her children to discuss her options.
Light also told us that she found out she’d be presenting the award to her dear friend before she did, and the timing was kismet: “Tonight is [actually] the L.A. premiere of Transparent, but since I’m doing a Broadway show (Therese Raquin with Keira Knightley), I wasn’t able to be at the premiere”. So, it’s always the little things in life that really you notice. This year, the 33-year-old made history when she became the first African American principal dancer. Hopefully, Pacific Standard Films will keep finding and developing roles for women like the “passionate and strong and flawed” ones Witherspoon herself has played – “except”, she added, her star-turning role as Election’s fiercely ambitious high school presidential candidate Tracy Flick.
Caitlyn revealed how she explained her transition to her children, saying: “I sat each one of them down and said to them this is my story this is who I am – what can I do”.
“I believe ambition is not a dirty word”, she said.
Kylie Jenner, who attended the event in support of her father, wrote on Instagram, “You’re unbelievable … congrats on being woman of the year”. “I never in a million years thought I would be here, and I’m sure you didn’t either”. “Thank you for honoring a black ballerina”, she said.
“I have to tell you a story quickly”, Ms. Jenner added.
US women’s national soccer team forward Alex Morgan wins Best Red Ensemble in this really, really handsome silk floral off-the-shoulders; Victoria Beckham is slinky and slightly terrifying, as always; Planned Parenthood’s Cecile Richards looks festive and pretty; Selena Gomez is doing a weird sexy schoolgirl thing that would be vastly improved with different shoes. Happy 25th, WOTY! See you next year!

Upon accepting her award, Caitlyn gave a speech detailing the struggle to find where she belongs and how she now feels like the transformation to female is complete after receiving legal paperwork acknowledging her new identity.
