Juric, Rogic to miss Socceroos clash

Australia’s football coach has set his sights on the world game’s ultimate glory as the squad prepares to face Bangladesh in Dhaka in the next qualifying game amid unprecedented security over terror fears.

Socceroos coach Ange Postecoglou says the players remain focused for their match against Bangladesh despite security warnings of potential attacks heightening after the tragic events in Paris on the weekend.

The Socceroos v Bangladesh match will be broadcast exclusively LIVE on FOX SPORTS and on a one hour delay on SBS.

Tim Cahill of the Socceroos shoots for goal during the 2018 Federation Internationale de Football Association World Cup Qualification match between the Australian Socceroos and Kyrgyzstan at GIO Stadium on November 12, 2015 in Canberra, Australia.

But despite having fewer options in the final third, Postecoglou said he was not too concerned about the Socceroos’ lack of scoring options.

But Postecoglou praised the work of the Cahill-Burns duo and added that the Shanghai Shenhua star has recovered well. Tommy Oar didn’t play so he’s fresh.

“The fact that he’s still going now and he’s still going strong and he still has the same energy, I think he’s an unbelievable ambassador for our game in terms of making every post a victor”. Burnsy came on and he looked really good, he looked sharp, he was getting in behind them and causing them problems. Probably could have had a couple of goals, and Timmy got his goal but also could have had a couple more, so they worked well together.

“I wanted to lead an attacking team”.

A heavily favoured win over 180th-ranked Bangladesh would put Australia back in the reckoning to finish ahead of their qualifying group leaders Jordan and ensure progression to the next stage on the road to Russian Federation.

After racking up five goals against Bangladesh in the first meeting between the two countries in Perth in September another big score is expected at Bangabandhu National Stadium tonight. They are now at the bottom of the pool with one point.
