The son of a Martha’s Vineyard man is recovering after being shot during the terror attacks in Paris.

Yaan Meerseman of Martha’s Vineyard says his son is expected to recover after being shot in Paris. He followed the crowd inside.
Arnaud Mirrosman was working as a concert producer for the Eagles of Death Metal concert at the venue when the shots rang out. His son, Arnaud, has been identified as one of the shooting victims. He had been shot, but he hadn’t even realized it. The bullet got in right under his right arm and came out basically on the other side. Once inside, he suddenly realized he was in a lot of pain.
Arnaud remained sedated Sunday night and has undergone operations on his lungs and ribs, Meersseman said.
The news set off a desperate search among friends and family in France, who set out to call every hospital in Paris. The friend said Arnaud had sounded weak.
Meersseman was on his way back from dropping his son at the airport Friday night when he heard about the attacks.
“Something bad is going on, I know Arnaud is at the concert hall, we’ve been trying to call him on the cell phone, he’s not answering”, Meersseman recalled. “He was barely speaking, but he was actually telling her was wounded but at that time nobody was with him”, said Meersseman.
The attacks at multiple locations Friday killed 129 and injured 350.
Meersseman, who lives in Oak Bluffs and owns the photography website Vineyard Colors, said his family had moved often between the United States and France while Arnaud was growing up, and that Arnaud attended high school in Lexington for two years.

“The real culprits are the people who raised these kids who put these ideas in their heads”, he said.
