An Air France jet that was headed for Paris was evacuated at the Schiphol Airport at Amsterdam as the authorities were alerted by a threatening tweet. Authorities called in explosives experts.

“There are, of course, a great deal more in conjunction with our joint venture partner Air France operated on their aircraft”, Durrant said.

State police said there is no specific threat to MA, but they have increased security as a precaution.

Passengers who cancel are being offered a full refund or a free booking change. The smaller airport in Paris, Orly global, suspended flights temporarily due to a computer software malfunction.

Security restrictions have since been tightened at airports across the United Kingdom, but a Bristol Airport spokesman said all flights to and from Paris were operating as normal.

Security measures have worsened at the Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris, France.

Travelers like Fujii, if they have travel insurance with terrorism coverage, could likely recover their cost, says Squaremouth, a policy comparison website.

Many travelers CBS 2 spoke with aren’t changing their travel plans, but they are apprehensive about traveling going forward.

The Department of Foreign Affairs said Irish people in France should try to make contact with their families at home to let them know they are safe. “I think once the doors were shut we just had a sense of relief”, said Biel.

The flight was first delayed, then canceled.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is calling the attacks in Paris “an assault to all of humanity”. On Friday, they were dining about 10 minutes away from one of the explosions. Will Bogle said the experience was different from after the September 11 attacks in the U.S., when there was more talk from flights attendants and pilots.
