WWE World Heavyweight Championship Tournament: Quarter-Finals: Roman Reigns def. Cesaro by pin following the Spear to advance. We’ve got the full results for you, so let’s get to it. Regardless, however, Reigns will have to make sure he doesn’t foul up and gain the ire of avid WWE fans who are not shy to bare their criticism on WWE matches.

Kevin Owens was shown chatting to Triple H in the backstage area. Owens won, and there would’ve been hundreds of thousands who would’ve been mad online if he hadn’t. The rivalry between the Brothers of Destruction and the Wyatts brings a really good opportunity for Creative to slide two up-and-coming competitors into the match to form an alliance with Undertaker and Kane; making the contest an 8-Man Elimination Tag Team match.

Kalisto defeated Ryback on WWE SmackDown and made a spot for himself in the quarterfinals. The WWE Universe were treated with three solid pay-per-view quality matches.

On the other side of the bracket, Dolph Ziggler will compete against Dean Ambrose.

Picking the victor is tough; that much is obvious. Cesaro has the respect on being technically gifted in the ring, while Reigns is simply the guy the WWE wants to showcase.

The finish of the match saw all of the wrestlers brawl to the back leaving Reigns and Ambrose in the ring together. Not to mention that his first in-ring battle was part of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Tournament. This loss will only help and not hurt his future prospects. Reigns however, fought back and evened things up with strikes. Though Neville eventually come out on top with the Red Arrow, it was a great showing by both competitors in this one.

Without question, the single-biggest surprise of the entire tournament was Kalisto upsetting Ryback. This was precisely the kind of match that the tournament format allows, with midcard performers pulling out their best work in order to earn a chance at the main event scene. The entire match was focused on counter wrestling, with the two men entirely evenly matched and unwilling to take many risks.

The past week in WWE was a wild one-from the temporary departure of now former WWE World Heavyweight champion Seth Rollins, to Wayne Rooney slapping the face of King Barrett on Raw in Manchester, England. Consider this one well done all around by WWE.
