House and park searched as two held over missing Kayleigh, 15

The house in George Avenue, Ibstock was sectioned off and The Sense Valley Forest Park was seached last night as police said they are “really concerned” for the 15-year-old.

Officers say the are becoming “increasingly concerned” over the whereabouts of Kayleigh Haywood from Measham in Leicestershire who was last seen by her family on November 13.

Police have arrested two men in connection with the disappearance of a 15-year-old girl who has not been seen since Friday evening. However small it may seem please get in touch’.

Making a direct plea to the youngster, he added: ‘Kayleigh, if you see this, I want you to know that you are not in trouble.

“The police and your family are concerned as they have not heard from you since Saturday morning and we just want to make sure you are ok”.

Search teams spent the day scouring the Sence Valley Forest Park, on the outskirts of Ibstock, as part of efforts to locate the teenager.

The officer said: “This is an appeal to Kayleigh herself”.

Since her disappearance was reported to police detectives have trawled CCTV, carried out house to house enquiries and spoken to her friends, family and school.

“I would reiterate my appeal for anyone with information about where Kayleigh may be to contact us on the dedicated phone line”.

A relative, who answered the door of the family home, said: “We have nothing to say”.

Det Ch Supt David Sandall, of Leicestershire Police, said: “Our concern for Kayleigh is growing”.

Dog-walkers or anybody that came to Sence Valley Forest Park, just off Ravenstone Road, between Saturday afternoon and Monday morning, we want to hear from you.

“We have a strong relationship with Kayleigh’s family and this continues”.

The statement was issued around six hours after detectives confirmed that a mobile phone thought to belong to Kayleigh had been found in the Ibstock area by a member of the public. “She [Stephanie] just wants her daughter back”.

Kayleigh is white and is described as being about 5ft 6ins tall, of medium build with mousey coloured long hair.

Mr Timmins, 63, who moved on to the estate in September, said one of the sealed-off properties was occupied by a man who had lived there for around two months.
