N.C. GOP leaders back McCrory on refugees
Pat McCrory (R) responded to President Obama’s statement at the G20 summit that it’s “un-American” to stop Syrian refugees from coming into the country.

Nikki Haley says there are no Syrian refugees in SC and says she will object if the Federal Government does make plans to send refugees to the state.
Republican Gov. Robert Bentley announced Sunday that he would refuse Syrian refugees relocating to the state, saying: “I will not stand complicit to a policy that places the citizens of Alabama in harm’s way”.
“What’s happening in Europe is a far cry from what’s happening or would happen here, because the process for vetting in the United States is very, very different”, Andrew Timbie, Director of World Relief High Point, said.
His concern is that a few of the Syrian refugees might be Isis.
McCrory said North Carolina has a proud tradition and humanitarian obligation to provide a hand up for those in need, including global refugees. But he says that falls behind is paramount responsibility.
Refugees from the Syrian civil war are fleeing the brutality of their own government and the atrocities of the Islamic State.
“It’s people who have fled unimaginable circumstances and they’re just like you or I, young mothers with kids, grandparents, whole families displaced because of nothing they did, just due to their ethnicity or race or language”, Pascal said.
“The Syrian refugee program should be suspended until the American people are satisfied that they know exactly who the President is admitting into the country via this program”. The state resettled more refugees from Burma than any other country.
North Carolina is now home to 59 Syrian refugees, according to McCrory. “We are asking for more additional collaboration and basic information, such as where these refugees are now residing”.
McCrory says top state officials are now examining legal options if the President does not heed the request of the governors.

Governor McCrory said he has directed the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Public Safety to coordinate with the appropriate federal agencies. The terrorists, we think can be filtered out if it is done properly.
