U2 ‘shocked’ by deadly Paris attacks, cancels concert
Eagles Of Death Metal’s “Save A Prayer” has entered the United Kingdom charts after around 100 people were killed by terrorists at the band’s Bataclan concert in Paris on Friday (13 November).

Duran Duran are donating their proceeds from Eagles Of Death Metal’s cover of Save A Prayer to charity.
Irish rock band U2’s frontman Bono called Paris attack, that killed over 120 people, a first direct hit on music as many young concert-goers and fans were targeted.
Now a group of fans in the United Kingdom have launched an online campaign to push the band to the top of the U.K. singles chart in a display of solidarity with the band and their fans.
The group covered the 1982 song on its album “Zipper Down” and even dueted with Duran Duran for a performance on the United Kingdom show “TFI Friday”. Turns out they weren’t the only band in the venue.
“Dorio’s brother Michael told U.S. media: “[Julian] said they were playing, about six songs into the show, and they heard – before they saw anything – they heard automatic machine gun fire. Ideally we don’t want anyone to gain financially or promotionally. “It’s a statement of peace, love, and support, that’s all”, they wrote.

U2 cancelled their concerts at the AccorHotels Arena on Saturday and Sunday in the aftermath of the attacks, and paid tribute to the victims by laying flowers at a makeshift memorial near the Batalcan. The Daily Mail also reports that in less than 24 hours, the band’s cover has already reached No. 1 on the iTunes United Kingdom rock chart.
