Dancing With The Stars Recap: Who’s Headed To The Finals?
She’s blossomed just like a caterpillar while on “DWTS”, her mom, Terri, said, and gone from girl to woman. So Tamar’s gone, Alexa is gone.

I’d include a stock image of Sad Lonely Val here, but frankly I’d rather remember this shining moment of his from the opening group number instead! The pairs were originally supposed to each dance twice, but because of The Real host’s exit, the final four each performed a dance-off routine as well, which brought their total dance count to three. Performances included an individual dance, a dance-off, and a trio where another pro dancer joined the routine. I felt that both dances should have gotten flawless scores, but while Bindi did get that 30, Carlos came up one point short with a 29. Joining them is Carlos and Witney, which means Bindi and Derek and Nick and Sharna are in jeopardy. That is a lot of dancing to remember, right? Well, let’s get our dancing shows on and get boogying! However, like I said before, it is hard to focus because it is so fast.
Sammi: Getting a peek into her life is wonderful. The judges and the audience were blown away by what Carrie Ann described as a professional contemporary routine.
Alek is America’s sweetheart, and the close bond that Alek has had with his train buddies Spencer and Anthony. All it needed as a line of WWII veterans saluting the flag and I would have gone into full-blown tears mode. I wonder, however, if their ideal score of 30 wasn’t influenced by Alek’s background and the patriotic nature of the music.
Update: Carlos has in fact stopped crying since Alexa’s elimination last week. Carlos’ reaction was heartbreaking. Carlos says the rope in the dance was like God to him.
Bruno: It was a bloody good dance. “Like watching Tarzan doing Cirque du Soliel!” cried Bruno. Back then, he was in the thick of fame, using drugs and drink during that period of time. And to accomplish this, he has a supportive wife, friends and family by his side. Julianne thought his execution was solid, but didn’t feel the connection between the partners. Bruno also loved it, saying the dance embodied all of Nick’s strengths.
Since Tamar Braxton was forced to leave the competition last week, we have a quartet of contestants competing in the semifinals of Dancing with the Stars. But it’s the second dance of the night, so who can blame them?!? Julianne tells Alek he showed an unprecedented level of comfort. Carlos, your technique was spot on.
Judges Scores: Carrie Ann: Alex, Julianne: Carlos, Bruno: Carlos, victor: Carlos, raising his score to 31 out of 30. Bindi and Derek and Nick and Sharna then tackled the samba, with Bindi and Derek earning the bonus 3. LALATE predicts that Bindi Irwin will be your DWTS victor 2015.
Going into the final, and based on the dancing alone, Irwin still seems the one most likely to win. Bindi-where did that hip action come from? After the performance finished, Bindi and Derek were chosen winners by all three arbiters, including Bruno Tonioli, Julianne Hough, and Carrie Ann Inaba. You get perfection. Their routing was impossible and interesting and fascinating and otherworldly. “You are like a little ninja warrior princess”. Bruno says the dance was “a work of genius”, and Carrie Ann makes a bunch of sound effects and calls the dance something that a professional dance troupe could have done.
Alek was unable to duplicate his earlier magic when he and Lindsay were accompanied by his crush Emma Slater for an Argentine tango that got lukewarm reviews. “It takes three to tango”. I’m still finding Alek a little stiff out on the floor, but the dude looks great in a suit, so I’ll ride this high. Seriously, I think I need a clip of Sharna winking at me to play on a loop any time I’m feeling down about myself. You lost steam at the end. Only time and Tom Bergeron will tell.
Carrie Ann: That was so fun! The Charleston got renamed the “Carlos-ton”, and nobody groaned out loud, except me. Nick suffers a few mistakes with his footing and totally loses it in the middle of his dance. “You showed up for do or die and you did it”, Julianne said. The judges were impressed and they scored 29 points.
And welcome back to the lovely Peta! He’s improved measurably, as most viewers would agree, but he’s still not really a dancer. For the dance-offs the celebs will go head-to-head against each other. “That’s how you come back!”
Alek and Lindsay vs. Carlos and Witney are up first. Alek & Lindsay earned a 57 out of 60 and Nick & Sharna had erned a 54 out of 60. And although we knew they were safe, apparently Bindi didn’t know she wouldn’t be eliminated, because the look on her face was so pricelessly relieved.

Monday night, during the semi-finals of Dancing with the Stars, we’re sure the remaining couples could practically TASTE the mirror ball trophy-which we imagine to be a delicate combo of sweat and spray tan.
