Tina Fey & Amy Poehler, Ryan Gosling, and Chris Hemsworth

The two women, of course, once co-anchored SNL’s popular Weekend Update segment and the last time they co-hosted an event, they almost brought the house down at the Beverly Hilton Hotel for the 2015 Golden Globes.

Fey and Poehler hosted their third and final Golden Globes Awards earlier this year. The alums of the NBC sketch comedy show will be joined by musical guest Bruce Springsteen.

Tell Us: Are you excited to see Tina and Amy co-host SNL? So while Poehler and Fey aren’t making history as the first double hosts, they are the first duo to both be former cast members of Saturday Night Live, and that’s pretty great. Poehler and Fey have made multiple guest appearances on the show in the past, including the infamous Sarah Palin and Hilary Clinton spoof.

It’s convenient timing for the pair, as their movie Sisters is due to be released at around the same time as their “SNL” episode on December 19th, which will serve as the season finale for the year.

“Saturday Night Live” is produced in association with Broadway Video.

Fey started at “SNL” in 1997 and became the show’s head writer two years later – a position she held until her departure in 2006. Leon Bridges will perform as the musical guest on the December 5 installment and Chance the Rapper will perform on the December 12 episode.
