Today, Google is taking a second swing with the release of Android M Developer Preview 2. The update should go out to developer hardware automatically over the next few days, though impatient developers can download the system images directly from Google if they so desire. If you want to install it onto your supported device, you’ll receive near-final APIs for you to validate your own application against, as well as more standard testing and other platform updates. In addition to platform updates, the system images also include Google Play services 7.6.
Updated documentation: Behaviour changes, API overview, and Permissions documents have been updated to reflect the changes in the platform. For example, a bug affecting camera permissions with legacy apps has been resolved, as has an API bug that affected TextInputLayout.
Developers can report issues here, as well as visit the M Developer Preview Community to share ideas and info. A decrease in price is a clear indication that a new Nexus device is coming out soon.
Simply put, you can now toggle off Wi-Fi, cellular, and just about everything that surfaces on the right side of the status bar except for battery. Google states that a 3rd Android M Developer Preview update that will be “near final” will arrive in late July, so two updates this month.

Android 4.4 KitKat and Android 5.0 Lollipop were both announced and released in October and November, and many expected the same late fall and early Q4 release date for Android M. However, surprisingly Google is stating it will be announced and released before the end of September. It was at the same time that Google made a promise, citing that the M Developer Preview would be on the receiving end of a couple of updates prior to making the sure that the software itself is stable enough to be used by the masses.
