The Cincinnati Reds will look for their second series sweep of the Washington Nationals Wednesday.

An anticipated pitching duel between Keuchel and Carlos Carrasco never materialized. The Reds are falling out of the playoff race and Cueto on his previous year of his contract with Cincinnati the odds are very high that Cueto will be on a new team by the end of July.
Cueto (6-5 2.61 ERA) in 16 starts for the Reds this season. He also had 11 strikeouts and walked just one in his nine innings of work. “He was showing everybody that he’s one of the best pitchers in the National League and the big leagues in general”.
Washington Nationals’ Matt den Dekker (21) scores as Cincinnati Reds catcher Brayan Pena, left, can’t make the tag in time, after a wild pitch, during the third inning of a baseball game at Nationals Park, Monday, July 6, 2015, in Washington.
Speaking of Johnny Cueto, keep voting for him to reach the All Star Game.
Finally, be sure to go out and vote Johnny Cueto as the final player in for the NL squad at the All-Star Game. “I want to do it”, Cueto said through an interpreter. Cincinnati took the first two games and leads the season series 5-0. Newly minted All-Star Aroldis Chapman pitched the ninth inning for his 17th save, and the last-place Reds improved to 4-0 against the National League East-leading Nationals this season.
“I’ve had stinkers before”.
“‘I just didn’t have it today, ‘” Scherzer told reporters, including MASNSports.com’s Byron Kerr. They’ve got great hitters.
Votto was the main culprit. He doubled in a run in the first inning, hit a solo homer in the third and added an RBI single in the fifth (see full recap).
McCutchen set a career high by extending his hitting streak to 14 games.
Reds: Lorenzen (3-3, 3.58 ERA) is the most likely starter Thursday against the Marlins, Price said. “He does a good job of doing his little wobbles and his quick-pitches and all that stuff. We have a game in an hour, so I’m trying not to get too excited and whatnot, but obviously it’s pretty cool”. Plus, they are 0-5 against the Reds this season.
Scherzer gave up two runs before getting two outs. After Brandon Phillips opened the game with a single, Votto hit an RBI double and scored on a triple by Bruce.
“My first reaction was that I popped it up because I hit it in front and (did) not hit it well”, Suarez said. “They hit them far”.
Nationals manager Matt Williams replaced the top two players in his starting lineup, center fielder Denard Span in the third inning and third baseman Yunel Escobar in the fifth.
Nationals: Span, who sat out Tuesday, is expected to be examined Thursday by a specialist in Dallas. His worst start came against the Detroit Tigers on June 17th, in which he gave up three runs on three hits and two walks over just 5.1 innings.
Junichi Tazawa (1-3) picked up the victory with 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief, and Koji Uehara pitched a ideal ninth for his 20th save.
Scherzer (9-7) endured his shortest outing of the season – allowing five runs on seven hits in 4 2/3 innings – one day after being named to the All-Star team. His 2.3 WAR is the best for a pitcher on the Reds, and 10 in the NL.
“He’s developed into that type of pitcher where he’ll turn his back to the hitter and hides it really well, he’s got great offspeed pitches and can throw any of them for strikes at any time”.
In New York, Brett Lawrie hit a leadoff homer in the 10th inning against All-Star reliever Dellin Betances. Instead, he was tagged out heading back to first for the double play 4-3-6-3.
