Former Ravens DT Terrence Cody convicted of animal cruelty
Former Baltimore Ravens defensive tackle Terrence Cody was convicted Monday of nine misdemeanors in a case involving the death of a dog he owned. Cody was reportedly acquitted of the most serious animal cruelty charges, but will face sentencing in early January. Ensor did convict Cody guilty on five other counts that stemmed from failing to provide care for Taz.

According to The Baltimore Sun, Cody was also convicted of two marijuana-related charges after the substance and paraphernalia were found in his former home.
His girlfriend, Kourtney J. Kelley, 28, was also found guilty on five misdemeanor charges related to the dog.
Ensor found him not guilty Monday of two felony counts of aggravated animal cruelty.
“I’m relieved and very grateful that he’s been acquitted of the felony charges that were brought against him”, Murtha said outside the courthouse. “In the end, that dog was eating trash and eating bones to survive”.
Other dogs were in Cody’s possession at the time were healthy, but for a few reason Taz was treated differently.
Cody, 27, turned himself in to authorities in February after the initial investigation was launched and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
As for Kelley, her attorney argued, “Ms. Kelley had no legal duty to act on behalf of Taz’s wellbeing”.

After Cody failed to live up to his billing as a 2010 second-round draft pick, the Baltimore Ravens released him this past offseason.
