Egypt says it will work with Russian Federation against terrorism

“Traces of foreign explosives were found on debris from the Airbus plane”, FSB (Federal Security Service of Russia) Chief Alexander Bortnikov informed Russian President Vladimir Putin Nov.17, the Kremlin website reported.

The plane crash has eventually led a few states, including Britain and Russian Federation, to suspend their flights to Egypt’s Red Sea resort Sharm el-Sheikh and to evacuate their nationals from there over a possibility that a bomb was behind it.

The spokesman stressed that all anti-terror acts taken and would be taken by Russian Federation strictly comply with global laws, and he reiterated the need to form an worldwide anti-terrorism coalition.

Also on Tuesday, a US defense official said Russian Federation had conducted a “significant number of strikes” in Raqqa in northern Syria in the past several hours.

“It’s necessary to establish direct contact with the French and work with them as allies”, Putin told the military top brass at a meeting after French President Francois Hollande said the French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle would be deployed to the eastern Mediterranean.

Within hours of the announcement Russian Federation pounded ISIS with cruise missiles launched from submarines and missiles dropped by its long-range Bear bombers.

‘Seventeen people are being held; two of them are suspected of helping whoever planted the bomb on the plane at Sharm al-Sheikh airport, ‘ said a security official, whom declined to be named.

“We must do this without any statute of limitations and we must find out all their names”, he said, invoking Russia’s right to self defence under the United Nations charter.

People lay flowers on makeshift memorial for victims of Russian airliner which crashed in Egypt outside Pulkovo airport in St. Petersburg.

Confirmation that a bomb was smuggled onto the aircraft would likely have a crushing impact on Egypt’s vital tourism industry.

Egypt has stopped short of denying that an attack brought down the plane, however, with the civil aviation and interior ministers saying all scenarios for the cause of the October 31 crash were being investigated.

“Regarding Sharm al-Sheikh airport, when we discover that there have been security lapses action will be taken, but up to now we have no information about lapses in the search and security procedures”, he said.

“Our military work in Syria must not only be continued but strengthened so that criminals understand that punishment is inevitable”, he added. Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov should “turn to all our partners” for assistance, Mr Putin said.
