Broncos’ Manning to sit out vs. Bears
The changing of the guard for the Denver Broncos is in full effect. By Peyton Manning standards, by any starting quarterback standards.

Osweiler is a fourth-year pro from Arizona State who GM John Elway selected in the second round of the 2012 draft with the explicit intention of serving as Manning’s protege and eventual successor. I know Brock has been an absolute true professional throughout this season in the way he carries himself.
Perhaps Denver could afford this pick parade if Manning was offsetting them with touchdowns. Jay Cutler is playing with bravado. The receivers (and tight ends) have stepped up in the passing game. This offense does not suit him and either does the O line protect him as a result teams rushed him he did not have time to throw the ball Aaron Rogers or Brady would not do well under this offense. The Broncos started off 7-0 but that appears to be a bit of a mirage right now. Tony Romo is expected to start Sunday for the Cowboys after missing seven games because of a broken collarbone…. “There were plays down the field that could have gone either way, but our guys went up and got them… we made plays”. Peyton is pretty much a father figure to young players on the Broncos roster. With that power to remain stuck in your head for weeks or months, Manning’s tunes could keep Osweiler motivated for the remainder of the season and even into a deep postseason run.
If you haven’t watched it yet, ESPN’s recent film short “Chattanooga Strong” is must-see TV.
The Brock Lobster got most of his game experience after Manning broke the single-season passing yardage record (at Oakland, in 2013) and after Manning broke the all-time passing yardage record (vs. Kansas City, Sunday). And competing in the AFC against formidable Patriots and Bengals teams, Denver could benefit from having a legendary figure like Manning on its sideline. At 39 years old, it is painfully obvious Manning can’t play the quarterback position effectively. Well, guess what? Manning sucks.
The truth is that we won’t really know what Denver has here until 24-year-old Osweiler takes the field. “I probably should have made a decision not to play him in the game”, the Broncos coach said after Manning threw four interceptions in a 29-13 defeat Sunday by Kansas City. On the surface, that seems like a great thing for the Bears.
No National Football League team had won as many regular-season games as the Denver Broncos in the past three seasons.
Osweiler is an unknown commodity.
Here are a few other details the Broncos will have to address at the close of the season: Star linebacker Von Miller will be a free agent and command rock star money.
How will Osweiler answer these questions? There’s a very good chance that this was it, that this is it, that we may have really – for real this time – seen the last of the Brady/Manning rivalry, and in that case: Wow.
-Although the Chiefs posted just two sacks in the first half, Manning was under pressure every time he set up to throw the ball.
Kubiak announced that Manning will not dress for the game next Sunday and that puts Trevor Siemian in as the backup for Osweiler. Matters are not going to be helped by quarterback Peyton Manning ailing and already ruled out for the game with the Bears, it’s going to be on the shoulders of Brock Osweiler.

The Bears would have beaten Peyton Manning and the Broncos- there isn’t a doubt in my mind. But an Osweiler-led Broncos team is a different story.
