Hyundai recalls 2015 Sonata to repair broken seatbelts | New and Used auto

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, there are a total of 129,000 examples in the USA of the affected Hyundai Sonata and owners will have to be take these back to the dealers in order to get the problem with the seatbelt fixed.

The vehicles subject to the recall are 2015 Sonata models produced between April 25 and December 4, 2014. The buckle can jam if the tongue on the belt is inserted into the buckle at an angle.

The recall decision was made to fix problems with the buckles for front passenger seat belts. Only the front passenger side is affected, and driver would be notified because a warning light would illuminate on the dashboard.

In February, Hyundai also issued a recall for more than 200,00 of its Elantra sedans on concerns about the vehicle’s power steering reverting to manual steering.
