A great day was also had at Westwood Nursery School, according to its manager Dawn Bryant, where eight children dressed in their pyjamas and made bracelets and necklaces and raised £30 to boot. The parents and children also made cakes for the children to buy, towards a total of £192 raised.

Pupils brought in their pennies and spent Friday arranging them on a giant painting of Pudsey Bear, before they were counted up by staff at the end of the day.

At Leasingham’s St Andrew’s Primary School it was Wear A Hat Day, as children and staff came in all sorts of hats and paid a donation.
