The 50-year-old actor revealed he was diagnosed four years ago after initially believing he had a brain tumour.

Charlie Sheen is reported to have spent at least $1.6 million on sex workers in a single year after he had been diagnosed as HIV positive.
He confirmed he has had unprotected sex twice since, but those two people are now “under the care of his doctor”.
When asked if he had transmitted the disease to others, Sheen declared, “Impossible”.
“He doesn’t even value my life”.
Charlie Sheen and his goddesses Bree Olson, left, and Natalie Kenly in 2011.
Charlie’s manager Mark Burg told People magazine: “Bree Olson is all over Howard Stern but the truth is she wasn’t in Charlie’s life when he was HIV-positive and so there was no reason to tell her anything”.
Sheen’s spokesman declined to comment when asked about Olson’s remarks.
Then, in a series of exclusive reports on Monday (Nov 16), RadarOnline named Sheen as the mystery man.
In an attempt to keep his diagnosis a secret the actor gave his partners a non-disclosure agreement – making them agree to keep all details of their meeting private.
In the lead-up to the announcement, rumours had been swirling that an unnamed Hollywood actor who led a playboy lifestyle had potentially infected many high profile females in the industry.
In the interview with Matt Lauer, Sheen said that the goal of coming forward now is an attempt to stop those close to him from continuing to extort money in exchange for their silence.
During his interview, Charlie insisted he will use his celebrity status to raise HIV awareness, saying, “If there was one guy on this earth to contract this that’s going to deliver a cure, it’s me…”

“I hope he shines a light on a lot of the people that are struggling with those same issues that don’t have the resources”, she said. You’re a awful person. My memories of him reflect a warrior and super fearless person so I know he will navigate through this with strength. Sheen has had many more partners in the past four years and never revealed they were being exposed to the potentially deadly virus. The women said they planned to sue Sheen for intentional infliction of emotional distress, fraud and sexual battery, TMZ said. Kenly, like Olson, also maintains she is HIV negative.
