Dele Alli’s remarkable ascent continued with a man-of-the-match display on his first England start, but there appears no chance of the teenager getting carried away.

“The game is to go ahead and we will prepare and try to play the best game we can play but we can’t deny there are other issues at stake”.
He said: “I think it was definitely the right thing to do and I think it showed a great unity from both teams and hopefully that sends out the right message”. “It was an emotional night for both teams and I think it showed before the game”.
Dele Alli produced a mature performance to help England win an emotionally-charged friendly at Wembley.
“He’s been great for the club this season and now he’s doing it for England as well”.
Tottenham fans made the most of it…
Just six-and-a-half months ago, Alli helped hometown club Milton Keynes Dons out of third division League One but has since become an established player with north Londoners Spurs.
“He is obviously a great player and it makes it a lot easier when you know you’ve got that security behind you”, Alli said.
“I’m not suggesting everyone has to do that of course, that is ridiculous, but a lot more water needed to go under the bridge before you got a cap”.
“We’re all playing well at the minute at Tottenham and we’re just going to keep focused and keep trying to improve”.
“I think that the way the FA set about showing our respect and marking this poignant and sad occasion – because we are commemorating the deaths and serious injury of hundreds of people – could not have been done any better”.

The 19-year-old only moved from MK Dons after a period in League One to Spurs over the summer, but he’s ready a first-team regular at White Hart Lane and now he’s fully-fledged goalscoring worldwide midfielder.
