Mayor Brown announces $15 min. wage for city workers

After committing to increase in minimum wage for state workers, Governor Cuomo called on local municipalities to follow suite.

Governor Cuomo stated that “this economy has been unfair to working men and women”.

The governor isn’t alone in his unilateral approach.

Brown announced Wednesday that the minimum wage will rise to $15 an hour for city workers.

New York’s minimum wage, approved by the legislature, of $8.75 per hour is set to go to $9 per hour at the end of the year.
