Ronda Rousey was knocked out by Holly Holm in the second round of their UFC mixed martial arts championship fight, stunning cage fight fans in what a few called the biggest upset in the sport’s 22-year history.

After suffering a shocking and thorough defeat at the hands of Holly Holm at UFC 193 on Saturday, Mayweather offered a kind gesture to Rousey to help improve her game. While many have come out since the victory saying “they knew Holm could do it”; not many said it out loud before the fight.
The UFC would not be where it is now in part due to Rousey’s influence on the media and without a doubt she will always have a part in Dana White’s promotion considering the two grew together on Fox.
“I don’t even know, but I am pretty sure I will cry a lot, if I know me”, said Holm.
In recent years we’ve seen fighters who were considered “different class”, as Jimmy Magee would say, fade away. “I hope she’s doing well and she’s a true campaign”.
Instead of Rousey running around the huge Monster logo at the center of the Octagon, one of the lasting images will be her getting knocked out cold onto the giant “M” before the fight was stopped. “I think Ronda got beat tonight”, White said. A win Saturday would have been Rousey’s seventh title defense. “She’ll come back stronger”. “Believe me, there’s nothing I would like to do more than disappear for a while”, she told Rolling Stones.
In the meantime, let’s give Holly Holm all the attention a new champion deserves.
