‘Snake’ Stabler dies at 69
Stabler had a decorated career in Oakland that included four Pro Bowl selections. Raiders owner Mark Davis mentioned the team, which was informed by the household, was “deeply saddened by the passing of the good Ken Stabler”.

“Kenny was a household name because the Raiders were a household word, and Kenny personified and lead the Raiders”, he said. Stabler was drafted by the Raiders in the second round of the 1968 NFL Draft and guided the franchise to great success during his years as their quarterback (1970-79). More information will be available on Ken Stabler’s Facebook fan page and the X0X0 Stabler Foundation.
“The Snake” was known for his partying ways and his ability to stay cool under pressure. The next year, Stabler became Oakland’s starting quarterback, and for five consecutive seasons, the Raiders reached at least the AFC championship game. “Kenny loved life. It is a sad day for all Raiders”. “If you held a vote, I don’t think it would be close”.
Stabler had a brief stint with the Houston Oilers (1980-81) and then finished his career with the New Orleans Saints (1982-84).
The Buccaneers had confirmed that Wilson injured one of his hands, and his agent also told ESPN the incident involved fireworks. “It was a ball out on the left to Dave Casper”.
This newspaper was among those that had posted a story citing the Tuscaloosa News report of Stabler’s death. After a loss to archrival Kansas City, Madden gave Stabler a chance to show what he could do in practice.
The nickname “Snake” defined an elusive, darting playing style. “And we did”.
Ex- Raiders coach John Madden said that our team is incomplete without him and this gap can not be filled by any other rider.
“We felt it was an opportunity to get an earlier-round value for a later-round price”, general manager Les Snead said.
Let’s start with this amusing anecdote Stabler shared in his autobiography about some hazing he endured in his freshman year at Alabama.
“I’m going to breakfast to get my steak and eggs at 8 o’clock the day of the game”, van Eeghen said.
Alabama coach Nick Saban issued a statement Thursday that read: “I have had the chance to be around some of the best to ever play college and pro football, and Kenny may have been one of the greatest competitors to ever play the game”. We won the game. We are the future, just win baby, is our commitment to excellence.
“The UA family sends its deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Kenny Stabler”. And I’m not talking about charitable work. “I really didn’t know he was this bad off”, Homan said late Thursday. “The game came easy to me”. He would do anything for anybody, no matter who you were – he was just that type of person.

“From what I understood from the get-go was Kenny was trying to hit on her too, so I kind of squelched that”, Homan joked. “He was loose, he was fun to be around, he was competitive, and most importantly, he won”.
