Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim and Litton Das were the only three batsmen who registered double-digit scores, with the rest of the batting order collapsing inside 18.5 overs.
Faf du Plessis was adjudged the Man of the match for his contribution with the bat.
De Kock smashed Shakib Al Hasan over the mid-wicket boundary in the very next over to register the game’s first six and repeated the feat against Mashrafe Mortaza in the 10th over as South Africa reached 95 without loss at the halfway stage.
Risky Villiers got 40 from 34 balls with 6 fours, his partner young wicketkeeper De Kock gathered 44 from 29 balls with 4 fours and two sixes.
South Africa cricketer AB de Villiers had to use ice bags to deal with the hot weather in Mirpur. We will go back to making sure we prepare really well for the upcoming series.
“We had all the answers from a bowling point of view”, he said.
De Villiers opened the innings for only the second time in his Twenty20 global career and conceded four dots before he picked out Mashrafee Mortaza at cover from the last ball of the over. “If we could have taken him out, they would have scored 10-15 runs less”, concluded Mashrafe.

South Africa, on the other hand, had Faf du Plessis leading from the front with a valiant 61-ball 79, ably supported by Rilee Rossouw, who struck a quick-fire 31 to help his side post a competitive total. “That’s our gameplan, being aggressive to the Bangladeshi batsmen”, said Langeveldt in a press conference on Monday. Rilee Rossouw also contributed at an important stage, adding an unbeaten 58 for the fifth wicket with du Plessis, who did not throw his wicket away despite occasionally struggling to time the ball.
Bangladesh’s Arafat Sunny grabbed two wickets.
Result- South Africa won the series 2-0. South Africa turned the tables on Bangladesh, putting it through a trial by spin with Duminy and Aaron Phangiso rushing through the middle overs, sharing three wickets between them.

“Luckily for us we bowled in the second innings and I thought that favoured us a little bit more”.
