DeMarco Murray says Philadelphia Eagles teammate Tim Tebow is a ‘good player’

This is not helping Tim Tebow’s jersey sales. However, improvement guarantees nothing, which means that Tebow faces long odds to make it to the Philadelphia Eagles’ final 53-man roster.

Tim Tebow was originally a first-round selection (25th overall) of the Denver Broncos in the 2010 NFL Draft, the 6-foot-3, 236-pound quarterback has appeared in 35 games with 16 starts.

In the month of June, Tebow’s jersey sold better than Ndamukong Suh, Marshawn Lynch, Tony Romo, and Calvin Johnson. That is tied for second most in National Football League history. The only signal callers to move more jerseys than Tebow were Marcus Mariota, Tom Brady, Colin Kaepernick, Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston, Peyton Manning, Andrew Luck and Derek Carr.

Head coach Chip Kelly had been insistent on interviews that Tebow already improved a lot under his care especially when it comes to his passing and reading plays, and the two-time Pro Bowler’s recent remarks apparently supports that claim. Early reports out of camp indicate that he has a real shot at making the roster for the Eagles, though, which could be why his jersey sales continue to do so well. He was used a number of times at fullback, giving the offense a different look when he was on the field.

Murray racked up yards and touchdown rushes last season. He averaged 4.7 yards per carry and 115.3 yards per game. Again, he did not get in the end zone.

Furthermore, despite all the uncertainty on his future, Tebow is still very popular among fans.

Tebow has been up-and-down since he signed with the team prior to offseason workouts.
