Baylor has a strong running game and they can do damage on the ground, but if your plan is essentially to out-score the Bears there’s no reason to not encourage them to try and score their points the slow, hard way. If they win out, they will be in the College Football Playoff.

That’s certainly how they’re choosing to see things in Waco, Texas, after Baylor freshman Jarrett Stidham passed for more than 400 yards and threw three aesthetically pleasing touchdown passes in a victory at Kansas State. No team has opened up a can of whoop-ass consecutively on the Sooners like that since Texas A&M in the late-1990s. At No. 23 Tennessee the next game he rallied the Sooners from a 17-0 deficit with touchdowns on their last four possessions in a 31-24 double-overtime win. But if Oklahoma State takes care of business its final two games will decide who wins the Big 12, and, possibly, who represents the conference in college football’s four-team playoff.
“Looking back over the entire record of Baylor and OU, I’m sure we owe them more than one”, said Baylor All-America left tackle Spencer Drango, who redshirting his first season on campus and was on the sideline for the 2011 game. And Oklahoma State may have just as much at stake as Baylor. He may be young and inexperienced at the college level, but Jarrett Stidham has loads of talent and the skills to make the Sooners pay if he is given the time to survey the field and find open receivers. If the OU pass rush is able to disrupt his timing and make him uncomfortable, his chances of making a poor decision and forcing a mistake go up considerably.
